It is difficult to date this school slate but it most certainly predates the 1960s. This is a real slate. The grid on one side of the slate is faded. There is a crack in the slate but it remains solid, see the photo. You can see a few tiny droplets of hardened white paint. The frame appears to have been made of rubber and it would have hardened and cracked over time. Unusual school slate model. Length:
